On warm summer days, Stange municipality offers a varied selection of swimming spots, whether you prefer a sandy beach by Lake Mjøsa, peaceful forest lakes or family-friendly outdoor areas with good facilities.
Several of the swimming spots are universally accessible, and many offer piers, toilets, barbecue facilities and beautiful surroundings for a day by the water. Here is an overview of some of the most popular swimming spots in the municipality.

1 | Geitholmsjøen swimming spot
Geitholmsjøen is located in Åsbygda and is a popular swimming spot operated by Åsbygda Vel. The area has a landscaped lawn, pier, benches and toilet facilities, and can be reached by following Åsvegen for about seven kilometres from Åsbygda.
On the west side, there are benches and a toilet, while the swimming area in the northeast has a toilet, tables and a small beach. Geitholmsjøen is also adapted with a universally designed swimming area, fishing pier, toilet and dedicated parking. The area is well suited for both swimming and fishing.

2 | Harasjøen swimming spot
Harasjøen is located in Vallset and is an attractive swimming spot with good facilities for visitors. Here you will find a grassy area, floating pier and a sandy beach along the water’s edge. The area has toilets and covered seating areas that provide shelter from the weather.
The swimming spot is universally designed, with an accessible toilet and adaptations for wheelchair users.

3 | Bergsjøen swimming spot
Bergsjøen is an idyllic outdoor recreation area in Stange municipality, developed by Espa Velforening. The area has a landscaped lawn, barbecue cabin, seating areas, lean-to shelter, volleyball court and information signs, and is a popular destination for swimming, fishing and walks in nature.
Bergsjøen is located in Stange common land and has retained its natural character with simple adaptations. The outdoor recreation area at Bergsjøvangen is adapted for wheelchair users, with accessible access to the swimming spot and a universally designed toilet.

4 | Granerudsjøen swimming spot
Granerudsjøen is beautifully situated in the south of Stange municipality and is a popular destination during the summer months. The area attracts cabin owners, hikers and swimmers who want peaceful surroundings close to nature. Benches and tables are available for visitors at the swimming spot.
Nearby is Pilegrimsbua, with a lean-to shelter, toilets and access to drinking water, making the area well suited for wild camping and outdoor recreation.

5 | Tangenodden swimming spot
Tangenodden is a lovely, shallow sandy beach by Tangenodden Camping, offering good opportunities for activities on the water. The area is particularly well suited for canoeing and kayaking, while also serving as an attractive place for swimming and recreation by Lake Mjøsa.

6 | Korsødegården swimming spot
Korsødegården is located in Tangen and is a spacious swimming spot with good accessibility. The area has ample parking, a floating pier and swimming pier, as well as a grassy area and sand along the water’s edge, providing good conditions for both swimming and spending time by the lake.

7 | Gillundstranda swimming spot
Gillundstranda is located in Stange’s western district and is a pleasant swimming and outdoor recreation area by Lake Mjøsa. The beach is surrounded by beautiful lake scenery, and its location along the Gudbrandsdal Trail makes Gillundstranda a popular stop for hikers, cyclists and locals on warm summer days.
The swimming spot has a pier, seating areas, toilet facilities and smaller grassy areas for relaxation. Nearby, there is both a marina and a cabin area, and during the summer season there is a kiosk in the area. Gillundstranda is adapted with a ramp into the water, making it easily accessible for several user groups.

8 | Nordsveodden swimming spot
Nordsveodden is located by the Ottestad Trail north of Hias in Sandvika and is a well-equipped outdoor recreation area for the whole family. Here you will find a barbecue area, rubbish bins, benches, a lean-to shelter, playground equipment, swimming pier and public toilets.
The swimming spot is a popular gathering place throughout the summer season. On weekends and on days with good weather, there is also a kiosk in the area.

9 | Gaukilen swimming spot
A new universally designed fishing spot with an associated toilet is being established at Gaukilen. The facility is nearing completion and is planned to open during the summer. Once the area is ready, it will provide better accessibility and facilities for outdoor recreation and fishing by the water.
