BUA equipment depot
All over the country, there are schemes in place where sports and outdoor equipment can be borrowed for free. One of these is BUA – an initiative first and foremost aimed at children and young adults, but often also extended to anyone else as looking to borrow equipment. These schemes are owned and run by local councils, clubs, and associations. Most of the equipment is purchased new using charitable funds and public grants, and some is also donated by private individuals.
The BUA scheme is a concept that aims to promote activity among children and young adults across the municipality by providing depots from which equipment can be borrowed for free. It is an initiative that reduces consumerism and ensures that activities are available and affordable for all.
