About
Sauna by Mjøsa – at Friluftshuset in Gjøvik
Gjøvik’s new sauna, located in Fredevika, sits right on the edge of lake Mjøsa. Spend time in close contact with the elements – water, wind, and sky. Take in the breathtaking views of Mjøsa through the sauna’s large windows at the front. Enjoy the contrast between a hot sauna and the refreshing lake Mjøsa – the best medicine!
The facilities are largely run by volunteers. Please leave the sauna clean and tidy to make sure the next person has a pleasant experience too. Bring your own towels, and please use swimwear whilst in the sauna.
Friluftshuset is located in Fredevika, just south of the marina, along Mjøsstranda in Gjøvik. There is a car park down from Steinerskolen in Østre Totenveg, or you can park at the Plantasjen garden centre. The sauna is an approx. 10-minute walk from Gjøvik town centre and Gjøvik station, which can be reached by both bus and train.
Further information on opening hours, prices, and rules is available at the DNT Gjøvik og Omegn website. (Only in Norwegian)
